Just When you think it gets better...

it gets worse...

Okay so I didn't do some of the things I said I'd do in my last blogger entry. Rancho Penasquitos training race was one of them. It rained the night before, Nick got sick, I caught a slight bug the day before, so we both opted out like a couple of wussies. Travelling to Ohio for work had my schedule all out of whack too. Add to that 50+ hours a week at work and it's just a bad combo all around.

Okay so what else happened in September? Work work and more work. I did start basketball season again where we are 5 wins - 1 loss. Heh, we actually have a good chance of making the playoffs this season. I haven't been to the playoffs in about 2 or 3 years, and the older we get the worse our chances are. Average age for our team is about 40, and we're having to run and gun with kids that are in their early 20's. What's that they say about old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill ?!?? Hate to say it, but I'm feeling old.

I got another team together for our desert rage on October 20th. I've also been able to ride some more, run and paddle a little bit so my body is not too far out of conditioning. I think it's going to be fun, I'm racing with Corey from the last race and picking up a rookie and another female who's been racing about a year - should be fun. Nick opted out because of some GMAT for his MBA or something... Glad to have finished my Masters in my mid 20's. I can't imagine going back to school (EVER AGAIN) at my age.

Kaleo started the 1st grade and seems to be doing pretty well. He has a hard time sitting still in class and some days are worse than others. I think it's an adjustment period, but he seems to be making friends and getting along in the new routine. The scary thing is seeing these 20 somethings teaching my kid. Mrs. Togawa couldn't be much out of college - again the age perception thing... has me feeling like an old man.

I wish I had some recent pictures to share, but I don't. I'll have to work on that for my next entry.
