Ooof One Month since the last post

Okay, I turned 38 this month. You would think "eh, it's just another day - any other day and I am no different physically or mentally, I'm just another year older..." Well something physically happened to me. All of a sudden, it has become extremely hard to lose weight. I bounced up about 13 lbs and cannot get it off. Excercise and maintaining my wind has been extremely difficult. I am s l o w. Someone flipped on the "You're fu%^#ng old now" switch, and I am now officially an old fart, a weekend warrior, a hack. Every potential of ability I ever had or was going to fulfill is now gone, over, pau, finished. My window of opportunity for being a world class athlete (big fantasy) is done/shattered. I'm as good as I was ever going to get and it's all down hill from here. Okay okay, enough doom and gloom, and now for some excuses... Okay it's been too cold, too wet to train. Holidays have been busy and with my mom in town, difficult to eat right. Work is busy, but now manageable, so there's hope. We race this weekend in Temecula, I'm ill prepared (not enough training), but ready to have good time. Outlook for the next 5 or so years. I figure in my late 30's into my 40's if I'm able to drop about 20-30 lbs and get back to about 185-200, I can still be competive. (I haven't seen 190 since college). It'll take some hard work, but I think for the 2nd half of my life I'm ready for the challenge.
